Swing for a Cause: Burstwick to Host Captain’s Charity Am-Am This July
Golfers across the region are gearing up for one of the most anticipated events on the Burstwick Country Golf calendar. On Saturday 18th July 2026, the club will host the annual Captain’s Charity Am-Am, combining a day of fantastic competitive golf with a deeply meaningful cause.
Over £1,500 raised for the Matt Daley Golf Academy Juniors!
The annual Matt Daley Golf Academy Fundraising Am-Am took to the fairways, bringing together members, visitors, and local golf enthusiasts for a highly anticipated day on the course. More importantly, the event smashed its targets by raising around £1,500 strictly dedicated to supporting and developing the club’s vibrant Junior Academy.

Laura raises £1,800 for the Captains’ Charities
On Saturday 13th June Laura Key proved exactly how far community spirit can take you - specifically, about 50 miles. Taking to the fairways of the golf club, Laura successfully completed a grueling 100,000-step challenge, raising an incredible £1,800 for two incredibly worthy causes: the MS Society and Age UK.

The sub-four-hour round is the gold standard of recreational fourball golf. It is the perfect sweet spot where you have enough time to breathe, line up your putts, and enjoy a post-hole chat, without feeling like you are trapped in a slow-motion traffic jam.

Congratulations to Gill Hansom on her PGA Graduation!
Gill Hansom reently became part of the team at the Matt Daley Golf Academy, being the East Riding’s only female professional and one of a handful in Yorkshire, and today she graduated from the University of Birmingham with her PGA degree!

This week marks Greens Maintenance Week at Burstwick Country Golf, an important part of keeping our course in the best possible condition for members and visitors alike. Our greenkeeping team is currently carrying out hollow coring work across the greens using our brand new Ninja Tines, a recent addition to our maintenance equipment.

Captain’s Drive-In Postponed until 21st February
Due to the persistent rain in the last days and the worsening forecast towards the weekend, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone the Captain's Drive-In for 2 weeks, and it is now rearranged for Saturday 21st February 2026.

Burstwick Country Golf’s pro shop has had a makeover, and the results are looking great. The refurbished space now features smart new cabinet displays, giving the shop a cleaner, more modern look and making it easier to check out the latest gear, clothing, and accessories.

Durabunker Project well underway on 18th hole
We have kicked off an exciting project on the 18th hole, where all four bunkers are being rebuilt using the Durabunker system. It’s a big upgrade for one of the course’s most important finishing holes, and the work is already moving along nicely. Everything is on track to be completed in time for the 2026 season.

Our Captain, Lee Sargeson, would like to say a massive thank you to the 36 teams who took part in his Captain's Charity Am-Am on Saturday 19th July. Thanks to everyone's generosity, the day raised over £4,000 for Lee’s chosen charity, the Alzheimer’s Society.
