Over £1,500 raised for the Matt Daley Golf Academy Juniors!
The future of local golf is looking brighter than ever after a fantastic day of support, community spirit, and great sport at Burstwick Country Golf last Saturday.
The annual Matt Daley Golf Academy Fundraising Am-Am took to the fairways, bringing together members, visitors, and local golf enthusiasts for a highly anticipated day on the course. More importantly, the event smashed its targets by raising around £1,500 strictly dedicated to supporting and developing the club’s vibrant Junior Academy.
Investing in the Next Generation
Every penny raised from the Am-Am goes directly back into equipping the young golfers who train at the academy. For a junior golfer, feeling part of a team and having the right gear can make all the difference in building confidence. The funds will be used to supply the academy’s juniors with essentials and team gear, and some examples of this in years gone past are:
Custom T-shirts and Caps to give the juniors a proud team identity when representing the club.
High-quality Golf Bags and Drink Bottles to keep them prepared and hydrated during long training sessions and tournament rounds.
Essential Gear like tees, ball markers, and training accessories.
Head PGA Professional Matt Daley, along with his fellow PGA Pros Luke Bell and Gill Hansom, have long been champions for grassroots golf in East Yorkshire, creating a fun, inclusive environment where kids can learn the game, make lifelong friends, and test their skills.
Matt had to leave for Scotland half way through the day due to being booked to play in an Open Championship Qualifier, but the team held the fort for a great afternoon and evening of golf!
A special mention goes to Luke Bell who managed a Hole-In-One while playing his “Beat the Pro Challenge” on Hole 5! Well done Luke!
"The support we received last Saturday ensures that cost isn’t a barrier for young people wanting to look, feel, and play like a part of the Burstwick team. A huge thank you to every player, sponsor, and volunteer who made the day such a resounding success."
With the local community rallying behind them, Burstwick’s juniors are well and truly geared up for a fantastic season ahead.
