Swing for a Cause: Burstwick to Host Captain’s Charity Am-Am This July

Golfers across the region are gearing up for one of the most anticipated events on the Burstwick Country Golf calendar. On Saturday 18th July 2026, the club will host the annual Captain’s Charity Am-Am, combining a day of fantastic competitive golf with a deeply meaningful cause.

This year’s event is spearheaded by Club Captain Steve Beaumont, who has dedicated his captaincy year to raising vital funds and awareness for the MS Society. Multiple Sclerosis (MS) affects over 130,000 people in the UK, and all proceeds from the day will go directly toward supporting those affected and funding groundbreaking research.

Event Details at a Glance:

To ensure everyone is properly fueled for the day, players will be treated to a classic bacon roll and a hot coffee upon arrival before heading out to the course. As you make your way through the round, a fully stocked halfway house will also be available, providing the perfect pitstop to recharge, grab a snack, and chat about your scorecard.

While the main goal of the day is charitable fundraising, the competitive spirit will undoubtedly be high. Thanks to incredible support from sponsors and local businesses, the event boasts a massive prize table worth over £1,500. Teams will be battling it out for some top-tier golf gear and experiences, making it an incredibly rewarding day on all fronts.

"The MS Society is a cause incredibly close to my family’s hearts, and I’m proud to have it as my Captain's Charity this year. We want to pack the course, raise as much money as possible, and ensure everyone has a brilliant day. With great food, a halfway house, and over £1,500 in prizes on the line, it’s going to be a fantastic event."

Steve Beaumont, 2026 Club Captain
