Continued investment paying dividends at Burstwick
At Burstwick, we’re always looking for ways to move forward. Our continued investment across the club is all about one thing: improving the experience for our members and making sure we remain one of the leading golf destinations in the region.
One of our biggest projects this year has been an investment of over £10,000 into a Durabunker installation on our 18th hole. This modern bunker system improves drainage, consistency, and overall presentation, helping the hole play better throughout the year while reducing long-term maintenance. It’s a major upgrade to our finishing hole and a great example of how we’re investing smartly to improve the course for everyone.
We are very close to finishing the bunkers on 18 and are in the process of forming a long-term plan on doing every bunker on the course over a period of hopefully five to seven years.
We’re also adding a brand new half-way house, which will be nearly double the size of the old one - giving golfers a lovely place to enjoy some refreshments on our larger events that we hold each year.
Away from the more visible improvements, we’re continually carrying out research into how we can further enhance our golf course. From turf management and course conditioning to exploring new methods and sustainable practices, we’re always looking at ways to make things better.
As many will know we are currently exploring the idea of robot mowers for the rough and semi rough, as well as a robot ball collector for the driving range too.
This behind-the-scenes work allows us to make informed decisions that benefit the course both now and in the long term. By reinvesting in our facilities, our course, and ongoing research, we’re not just improving Burstwick Country Golf today - we’re doing our best to pave the way for the future of the club and setting the standard for golf in the region.
