Four Pros tie at 3 under in Pro Sports Cars Pro-Am 2023

On Friday 26th May we hosted our most high profile event of the year - our Annual Pro-Am, sponsored by Pro Sports Cars. With 42 teams signed up to the event it was set to be our biggest in the history of the club, and the weather forecast was perfect for the day.

In the lead up to the event our greenkeeping team had been working tirelessly to get the golf course in fantastic condition with our greens stimping at 11. The rest of the course was presented very well and the pins were in slightly friendlier positions than 2022 (when the course was set up super tough).

In the end it was past champion four Professionals who won the event, tied at 67 (James Drinkall, Alex Belt, John Wells and Tom George), which was a great illustration of the course playing fairly tough compared to many of our Pro-Ams in the past, but slightly easier than last year.

Comments from players all day were that the course condition (especially the greens) was in great condition, and the weather really helped with temperatures just above 20 degrees at the height of the day.

The winning team was Andy Lockwood, Garry Robinson and Russell Horrobin, along with their pro Paul Lockwood (70), who had a combined score of 122 (-18) to win by one shot from Ben Ratcliffe’s team!

On the evening of the event our headline sponsor Pro Sports Cars drew the raffle for their fantastic £500 cash prize! A ticket had been given to every player who took part in the event - and the winner was Caroline Barker from the Windy Hill Kennels team! Congratulations Caroline!

Thank you to the 168 players who supported the event, and to all the sponsors who made it possible for us to put up such a great prize table worth over £7,000.

Lastly a huge thank you to Joe Lamplough and the team at Pro Sports Cars who put huge amounts of effort and investment into this event making it one of the best Pro-Ams in Yorkshire!
