Work continues on the greens to get them ready for winter

This week we have been spraying a whole load of concoctions on the greens and also giving them a deep slit to get some air down to the roots as deep as seven inches.

As usual, golfers won’t notice much in terms of their performance but all this work little and often means the greens will stay healthier going into winter and therefore we will be able to battle any disease outbreaks, if there are any at all!

We have been spraying chemicals such as Terralift’s Bru Pre, which is a systemic disease inhibitor, and Rocasteam which is a liquid aerator designed to open soil up and clear toxic gases from the roots.

Soon we will be spraying some iron along with a second bout of Rocasteam to toughen the turf up and will continue to spike and slit going into winter to keep them rolling great!
