A Letter from the Captain

David Smith Captain 2020David Smith Captain 2020

Hello everyone,

For those of you who don’t already know me, my name is David Smith and since Saturday the 1st February, I am your new Club Captain. Many thanks to those past Captains, members and guests who gave me a terrific send-off on Saturday and I want to thank the outgoing Captain Tony Howard for a fantastic year with many happy memories and for raising £3500 for his chosen charity, Hull 4 Heroes.

I want you all to feel that I am approachable and able to help you get the most from your club membership. I am more than happy to pass on any ideas or recommendations to the club via our regular club committee meetings. The course and its facilities are constantly being improved and the clubhouse has just been redecorated.

I can highly recommend our Club Professional Matt Daley, who is making a major difference within the club in encouraging all golfers including juniors, ladies, seniors and new players and is expanding his training facility over the coming year.

I want you to make a note of some dates for your diary. The Captain’s Charity Am Am in support of my chosen charity, Macmillan Cancer Support, on the 25th July and the Captain’s weekend on the 8th and 9th August. I hope that those events will be well attended. I have already started the planning process.
I have other events and promotions to make you aware of, and I will contact you again throughout the year to let you know how you can take part.

For now, lets hope the weather is kind in the Spring and that we can all get out onto the course to enjoy one of the best and most challenging and rewarding sports in the world.

Yours sincerely,

David A. Smith
