Faldo Junior Futures Event - Tuesday 7th April 2026

Burstwick Country Golf is set to welcome young golfers on Tuesday 7th April as it hosts a Faldo Futures qualifying event, bringing one of the UK’s leading junior golf initiatives to the East Riding.

Founded by six-time major champion Sir Nick Faldo, the Faldo Futures series is designed to introduce children aged 7–12 to competitive golf in a fun, supportive environment. The events form part of a nationwide programme of spring qualifiers, with successful players progressing to regional finals and, ultimately, the national final during British Masters week.

The event is a 9-hole strokeplay event on a shortened course, and costs £10 per player including 30 range balls each, and is designed to give young players a taste of a competitive yet relaxed round of golf.

No handicaps are required, and there is a maximum score of 10 per hole so theres no worry about being stuck on the course for a long time!

There are 5 divisions (see below) and the top two players from each will go through to the regional final.

Boys' Divisions Girls' Divisions
7-8 Years 7-8 Years
9-10 Years 9-10 Years
11-12 Years 11-12 Years

The Burstwick event is expected to attract young players and families from across the region, offering separate age-group categories for boys and girls and an accessible format that does not require an official handicap. The series has become a popular entry point for junior golfers, helping to grow the game and inspire the next generation.

Hosting the event underlines the club and Academy's commitment to junior development and community engagement, and they are looking forward to showcasing the course while giving young players a memorable competitive experience.
