Newly planted tree areas at Burstwick

This week we have had a crew from the Green Task Force planting over 2000 trees on the course to fill out some bare areas, add some different colours and also help the environment by reducing CO2 emmissions.

Before our golfers panic, don’t worry, the areas that have been planted are in deep rough and away from most of the playing lines altogether. As part of the scheme Green Task Force have planted Rowan, Silver Birch, Goat Willow, Downy Birch, Beech, Wild Cherry, plus evergreens Scots Pine, Norway Spruce and Sitka Spruce for some winter shelter and colour.

There are 12 areas that have been planted on the course which can be seen on the map, and all trees are planted as whips with stakes and tube guards.

Members are reminded that any tree with a stake or guard is classed as a no play zone and free relief must be taken if it impedes your stance or swing.
