Update on Steve Fletcher

As you may know one of our members, Steve Fletcher, suffered a massive heart attack on Tuesday 22nd November, and he was resuscitated on the course with the help of staff and members (and a defibrillator) before an ambulance arrived to take him to Castle Hill Hospital.

We are delighted to let everyone know that Steve is making a great recovery and is now back home with his family. The doctors at Castle Hill have said they are thrilled with his progress and that the work done by the Burstwick team not only saved his life but ensured that he had the best chance possible to make a full recovery due to the immediate actions taken. Steve has had a mini defibrillator fitted into his chest and some other care by the surgeons and they have also said that he should be back in the golf course playing within 2-3 months.

We are over the moon with this outcome and know that many others will feel just the same.

Once again thank you to Mark Lamplough (Head Greenkeeper), Mark Carrick & Steve Lees for the CPR, and the Alan with the defibrillator that brought Steve back to life.

It really is an amazing story with the best outcome, and we hope to see Steve again very soon.
