MD Academy Golf Day raises £1,000 for juniors

The Matt Daley Golf Academy pulled off a brilliant fundraising event last Saturday, bringing the local golfing community together and raising over £1,000 to support junior golf. The day was a huge success, with all the money going towards helping more kids get into the game.

The event saw an amazing turnout, with 37 teams taking part. Players of all ages and abilities enjoyed a fun day on the course, and there was plenty of good-natured competition and laughter along the way.

The weather couldn’t have been better — sunshine and clear skies made for perfect playing conditions and kept spirits high all day long. It was the ideal setting for golfers and supporters to enjoy themselves.

One of the highlights was the barbecue at the halfway house. Players were treated to tasty food and drinks, giving everyone a chance to take a break, refuel, and catch up with friends before heading back out for the rest of their round. A big thank you goes to Matt’s dad, Pat, who worked hard cooking up all the burgers — they were a big hit and really added to the day.

Matt also thanked all the staff and volunteers who gave up their time to help organise and run the event smoothly, from setting up the course to serving food and making everyone feel welcome. Their efforts made the day extra special and ensured everything went to plan.

Afterwards, Matt Daley shared his thanks with everyone who came along and got involved. “It was fantastic to see so many people out here having a good time for a great cause,” he said. “Junior golf means a lot to us, and the money raised will help us give local kids more chances to play and learn.”

The day was a brilliant example of what the Matt Daley Golf Academy is all about — bringing people together, having fun, and supporting the future of the game.
