More machinery arrives at Burstwick!

As we continue to improve our fleet of machinery at Burstwick we have recently bought a Sisis Multislit which we will be using regularly on the greens and tees to prevent compaction, aid root growth and oxygenation in the soil, breaking down thatch.

The slitter uses eight inch knives which rotate and cut down into the surface but leave very minimal disruption, we follow up behind with the greens mowerand golfers don’t even know anything has happened!

It’s great for the health of the greens and perfect for putting as it doesn’t affect the roll of the ball.

Shortly we will also be having a demonstration of a new top dressing machine for our greens which will aid the speed of the greens and again help the breakdown of thatch in the surface, so watch this space!
