It’s been a long ordeal waiting for works to start on replacing our driving range nets that were severely damaged in Storm Ciara, but we are finally coming towards the end of that road!

Last week Hawkley Leisure Ltd moved in to begin the works by boring holes and cementing the 10-inch diameter sockets in, and on Tuesday they came back to begin erecting the new posts and installing the net, with a view to it being completed by the weekend.

We thank everyone for their patience during this time, as hole 18 has been played temporarily as a par 3 for almost six months, but that will no longer be the case once the nets are finished - we are hoping to get it back in play as normal for the upcoming Captain’s Weekend!

With 18 going back to a 382-yard par 4 off the white tees we are sure this will start claiming a few victims again very soon.
