Lungs of Burstwick Phase 2 now complete!

The team at Green Task Force and PATT Foundation have been working hard over the past week on phase two of the “Lungs of Burstwick”! The GTF & PATT team, plus Brian Sellers and two member volunteers Mark Carrick, Gary Spears and Ben Hatfield, and our greenkeepers, have planted around 6,500 trees around the course and we’re very excited about the difference they will all make to the landscape.

As we have discussed much of this planting is away from the playing line so won’t affect 95% of golf shots, so don’t worry too much about the way the course plays and that changing.

As we have talked about before, the aim of the planting is to increase the positive environmental impacts that our golf course has in a bid to help combat climate change, but also to change the aesthetics of the golf course and create some beautiful backdrops around the land.

We hope that our members understand the benefits of these newly planted areas and realise they are part of our quest for continual improvement at the club.
